Awards

What awards & Acclaims have they received?

Rufiji River Camp carries a quieter kind of acclaim, shaped by its Nyerere setting, considered hospitality and the way the stay keeps landscape and safari rhythm in careful balance.

Location

Nyerere, Tanzania

Rufiji River Camp sits in Nyerere, Tanzania, within large southern-Tanzania wilderness shaped by rivers, lakes and woodland. This vast game reserve, one of the largest conservation areas in the world, sees the Rufiji River carve its way through the park for 600km before flowing into the Indian Ocean.

From the UK, travellers usually fly into Kilimanjaro, Arusha or Dar es Salaam, depending on whether the itinerary focuses on the northern or southern circuit.

Light aircraft is common for Serengeti, Ruaha, Nyerere and Mahale combinations, while northern circuit road routing can work well.

Perfect for The Immersionist & The Pioneer

Rufiji River Camp speaks first to The Immersionist travellers through ecosystem depth, slower observation, and fewer places done properly. The Pioneer adds a more adventurous reading of wild Africa. Together, the fit is less about ticking off features and more about matching the lodge to the traveller's natural safari tempo.
