Awards

What awards & Acclaims have they received?

Gombe Forest Lodge carries a quieter kind of acclaim, shaped by its Gombe National Park setting, considered hospitality and the way the stay keeps landscape, comfort and safari rhythm in careful balance.

Location

Gombe, Tanzania

Gombe Forest Lodge sits in Gombe National Park, Tanzania, within forest and lakeshore country on Lake Tanganyika. The unique setting keeps the stay grounded in the surrounding landscape, with opportunities to explore forest, lake and land based activities. The lodge is approximately a 20 minute boat transfer from Kigoma Airport.

From the UK, travellers usually fly into Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro, then connect onward to Kigoma by domestic flight or specialist routing.

From Kigoma, access to Gombe is normally by boat across Lake Tanganyika. Transfer times depend on boat type, weather and lodge arrangements, so this is a destination that needs careful logistical planning.

Gombe is often combined with western Tanzania or used as a specialist primate extension. It is not a simple add-on to the northern safari circuit unless flights and timing are built around it.

Perfect for The Pioneer & The Framer

Gombe Forest Lodge speaks first to The Pioneer travellers through remoteness, originality, and the pleasure of reaching beyond the obvious. The Framer adds visual rhythm and moments worth waiting for. Together, the fit is less about ticking off features and more about matching the lodge to the traveller's natural safari tempo.
