Awards

What awards & Acclaims have they received?

Fodor's Finest 2026

Segera Retreat carries a quieter kind of acclaim, shaped by its Laikipia setting, considered hospitality and the way the stay keeps landscape, comfort and safari rhythm in careful balance, without letting polish overwhelm the feeling of being properly in place.

Fodor's Finest 2026;

Location

Laikipia & Lewa, Kenya

Segera Retreat sits in Laikipia, Kenya, within highland conservancy country where wildlife, community and conservation meet. The setting keeps the stay grounded in the surrounding landscape, with wildlife, light and distance shaping the sense of place before each day’s safari begins.

From the UK, most travellers fly to Nairobi, overnight if needed, then connect by light aircraft to Lewa, Nanyuki or another Laikipia airstrip. Governors' Aviation offers daily flights.

Some itineraries can be driven from Nairobi, but distances and road conditions mean flying is usually the better fit for a luxury safari.

Perfect for The Tracker & The Immersionist

Segera Retreat speaks first to The Tracker travellers through fieldcraft, guiding depth, and the pleasure of reading the bush closely. The Immersionist adds time, texture, and a fuller reading of the landscape. Together, the fit is less about ticking off features and more about matching the lodge to the traveller's natural safari tempo.
