Location

Laikipia & Lewa, Kenya

Governors' Mugie House is set around a hill with sweeping views of the Laikipia landscape characterised by open savannah, rocky hills and seasonal river systems. It is located on a private wildlife conservancy in Laikipia of almost 50,000 acres, with impactful community and conservation programs. Beyond the ridge, wildlife flows past in every direction.

From the UK, most travellers fly to Nairobi, overnight if needed, then connect by light aircraft to Lewa, Nanyuki or another Laikipia airstrip. Governors' Aviation offers daily flights.

Some itineraries can be driven from Nairobi, but distances and road conditions mean flying is usually the better fit for a luxury safari.

Perfect for The Conservationist & The Immersionist

Governor's Mugie House speaks first to The Conservationist travellers through conservation purpose, habitat protection, and the visible work behind the wilderness. The Immersionist adds a deeper understanding of ecosystem shaping, wildlife reintroduction and the people behind conservation. Together, the fit is about a deeper connection to the experience rather than a tick box of features.
